1st is not a skill but good college will get you better companies and higher CTC than they would offer at some less good colleges.
2 freshers don't have much to show except project or intern, so DSA and computer basics helps a lot.

1st - Disagree. Top tier colleges is a preference,not a Norm If you have what it takes, people would be happy to pay top dollar to get you

Indeed, I mentioned 1st point for the sake of info and because it's really important.
Same company may offer 5-6 LPA in any normal college, 10L in NIT and 15L in IIT.
Though, if they're here, they already are in some college, so Point 2.
