Single digit bonus and no Hike
Hi,
What to do when you get a single digit bonus but no hike when you have worked hard throughout the year on multiple things and had a decent rating and related discussions.
In a state of both surprise and shock,really don’t know how to go about the same.
Any help/thoughts would be highly appreciated.

Check if it’s only you / your team or it’s the whole company . What is the forecast for the next year and what is reason they are giving for single digit bonus ?. Accordingly you can decide if you want to look outside. Once the bonus/ hike is given they rarely change . I was in the same situation one time and regret not changing the company . Convinced myself that this shall pass 😞 as the market was bad like it is now . Please remember you work for yourself and not the company.

Depends on the budget the manager has. Managers hands are usually tied and they get a budget and are asked to figure out how to distribute it within their teams.
Depending on where you work this is 60-100 % of what is actually needed to make EVERYONE happy. Ends up with no one being happy. BTDT.
Have a chat with your manager to understand what the constraints were and how it could be set right going forward. Don't bear a grudge without knowing the facts.
