Sick leave during Notice period - Lasik surgery

Hi all, I’m currently serving my notice period and planning to undergo LASIK eye surgery, for which I’ll need about 5 days of rest/recovery. Has anyone here taken sick leave during the notice period? My main concern is whether taking medical leave during notice can lead to an extension of the last working day, or if it’s treated as a valid leave without affecting the notice period duration.

Would appreciate any insights or experiences. I want to complete the surgery before joining my next company.
