Sh!t storm has passed. Forced resignation and project allocation

Recently we are getting communication via one one teams call and a group call where they are inviting people from C3A grade and above. In this meeting they are clearly stating that whatever speculations are going on regarding recent layoffs are not true. You all guys are safe and continue working im the same way you all are performing. No need to worry and all that shit. On hearing such lines from senior management (Delivery heads handling multiple accounts) I have some different perspective.

  1. Either this SH!t Storm has passed and there will be no new such cases or maybe a few genuine cases where project contract is going to expire/pending renewal or skill upgrade is required for few employees due to dynamic market trends.
  2. Now they are trying to put a lid on all misdeeds they have done till now and simply doing damage control so the deserving ones stay.

I want to know what all the other guys think on these new communication being relayed by senior management?? What does it actually mean??

Delivery is getting impacted due to this those who are allocated are also worried and not doing work in many cases ....

Leadership is just giving these promises and making calls so that you guys continue working for 15-16 hours a day and they can meet end goals with lower number of resources now they have

Exactly this is the fact.. After all the shit that they have done, dedicated and actively working people were removed, others have lost hope and so are not doing the regular work, extending shifts and so on... That's why this damage control

I am wondering where it’s happening! I have not anything such from my connection so far and one true incident it was happened day before yesterday, they asked a high performing Solution Architect who served TCS for 20+ years to put down the paper by giving 2 years of salary. But he is safe now because the Senior management and BG head didn’t allow to make it happen due to his high dependencies.

I dont know why smart people working in IT dont realise the fact that how can 6 lakh employees will continue to survive in the age of agentic AI. I dont think its over, it will be a norm from hereon.

Because many employees who are not on bench know they are not safe any more even though billable. Billable associates in my project across different grades(junior to senior) have all geared up with updating their profiles on linkedin, naukri, instahyre etc. Few have shared it to old colleagues in previous companies. As soon as external opportunities tick up people are ready to move on. People hadn't planned this earlier as most of them joined post covid so not more than 3 to 4 years in this company but due to the environment and useless policies they are all planned to move on.

Fluidity and all this release, layoff, rto etc. will lead to good associates leaving the organization. It is always challenging and costly affair to create a skilled experienced talent pool instead of freshers.

C1,C2 - Not happy because of poor pay compared to friends in other orgs. Many have marriage plans. C3A - Married, having one kid worried about family in this layoffs C3B - Married, school going kids, loan emis to pay C4 and above - Highly stressed

So people are dissatisfied at all levels due to unsafe environment. All above experiences are from people who are into project and not bench.

I hear now they are tracking competencies declared in iEvolve by teams, and managers are informed who all are in an under-invested pool. Hence the target given to complete E1 on GenAi etc ,this could be a new criteria for layoffs that's what my supervisor also suspects, rest only God knows. But it's sure that this process will continue for a few more months.

Today also fluidity list came. So many associates from my account released. RMG is flooded with resumes.

See any RMG and count how many are reporting to them. 800-1000+ to each RMG. Not many openings are there. And this 35 day policy is also still there.

So how can you say we are safe?

When did I say that 35 day policy is no more in effect?? Bhai jo ho gaya hai wo undo karne ki baat nai hui hai! Discussing about future that might not be so tensed.. Chill man!

Yes. This damage control being done immediately after official news of layoffs.

If your team is working on SAP then obviously they don't want to loose you as SAP opening are there in market.

What they inform is :

  1. people who are bench for long duration like six months. Such people are getting laidoff. Seems to be true because I heard presence of such cases before official layoff announcement
  2. In TCS there are many unfulfilled opening for which they want it fill it internally. Hence Fluidity drive. This does not sounds true. As people are released from projects for various reasons( even if projects need them). Also how are they going to match unfulfilled opening with such a random approach? This is something fishy.
