Trending @Wipro; Shouting Room

There should be a shouting/crying room in Wipro. When I feel low I cry, but can't cry peacefully. I've been put in a location that I don't want to report from. There are offices near my city but instead they put me in a location 950 kms away from my city. Day by day it's depressing. Weather here sucks. Yes its Chennai. The worst IT park - sholinganallur. Cuz of metro construction everything is ruined. Slowly losing interest in everything.

Its always a common thing. I was a person who doesn't even go out. I had to leave to a different city from chennai. It became too hard for me due to language lifestyle and no known people. But post a year i was adjusted to the city and made good friends and returned without wanting too. It made me more mature and thought me how to survive alone. Its a good opportunity take it as a challenge. You will be proud of you later

I worked in my comfort zone (wfh) and in my new project I was asked to report from Chennai. I'm an introvert, no friends in this city. Sometimes I feel very lonely, although I never felt like this when I reported from Bangalore where there too I didn't have friends. I believe it's language barrier issue. People are obsessed with Tamil and they don't welcome outsiders. Even in my own team I'm cornered, they keep on having conversations with Tamil speaking people alone.

Not sure why this behaviour?

I can understand you and I came here to Chennai 3 to 4 months back and my base location is banglore but reporting to Chennai I am an introvert too like you but slowly I made good friends and it's good to see myself like this and surprised. If I can do it so can you.

If you feel that we can be good friends then looking forward to meeting you in the Chennai office

Please find me here +917780597286 if you need any help I am 😊 happy to help you.

Initial days of career, it's common and most frustrating part is, every one from your training who are present with you in the city gets location change they wish except you and giving send off to them is hard not because they are going, because we are not able to move.

Every employee is hired from a base location and that's mentioned in your offer letter. I am sure this was a part of discussion and agreement before rolling out offer letter. If you are supposed to report from Chennai as base location, you can report from any office in Chennai. Situations are different in different locations for sure, and you may have your own location preference now. You can discuss with your reporting manager and HR for a base location change. Prefer citing some health issues caused by current location.
