Should we try that hard to excel in programming

AI seems to be everywhere these days, and we rely heavily on AI tools for our work as well. With this trend, isn’t it likely that the demand for software engineers could decrease in the future? Should we focus on mastering these software concepts, or consider pursuing something else?
