
Should I tell or not?
I am 5 months pregnant and new to project.I was on bench earlier and were not getting project as I was pregnant.In this project I did not told about my pregnancy.Now they have started me giving KT and till December transition phase will occur.In january last I have to go on maternity leave.When should I tell manager that I will be going on ML in January.If I tell him may be he will put me on bench.What to do?

IrreIevant but it's so tough to have a successful career as a woman :( Once there is a kid, some interviewers wouldn't want to hire the woman and make sexist comments about how she won't be able to focus on job and overtime.
Good luck to you though and yeah don't tell your manager till you have to take the maternity leave. Manager can always put you on bench. But at least a few months of work might convince them of your calibre

But the comments From managers you talking about . Even a woman manager does not like to take another woman with 6 month old baby ... So why to blame others

In pregnancy no one can fire you because it’s unethical. Even I was also 5 months pregnant and joined tcs. If you read maternity policy then it is clearly mentioned it’s your discretion whenever you are ready to inform then just go and inform them. But it is better to inform then 1 month before going to maternity leave. Just check HR policy and don’t panic.

There is no place of truth here and moreover it is your personal life. They don't need every single detail of your personal life.
As a courtesy you can notify them around mid November.

I think you should inform them of your are going to take maternity leave in next 3-4 months. As these are long leaves, management should be informed at least 3 months before taking leave so that they can find your replacement and your leaves are approved smoothly.

Don't tell now, wait for some more time

Hi, I just came back from 6 months maternity and plus 1 year of LWP for my baby care. You can take maternity leaves from 8th month + 1 month special maternity leave. You can inform your manager in your later 7th months.No one can force you to resign while you are on maternity, but prior to that, HR can force you to resign.so I will suggest you till you move to your 7th month you can continue work. After that 1 month either you can be in an account like my manager kept me in an account then he released me from my account and later 1 month I was in the rmg pool.Then went to leave.

I think it would be better if you say at november end. As you already getting KT you just work for three months silently. Cauz with current tcs situation if you tell now they mayl release you as you are still in Kt period. And again getting project is a big thing now. Reveal at the end of November kindly manner. they cannot fire you as you will going on maternity leave and even if they release by November end you will be safe with better bench period.
