Should I take back my paper or not?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently serving my notice period in one of the largest accounts at TCS. I’ve requested my team lead and manager to retain me, and they are supportive of the idea. However, I don’t have any other offers in hand at the moment. I’m also in the HR round with another company, but the challenge is that they have a 3-year bond, which I’m not willing to accept.
FYI : I have 1 year of experience and the project I am working on has got quiet attention from the director and EGM of the client . ( Backstory : I cleared prime and gave an interview for prime but got demoted to ninja because of my engineering branch )
The uncertainty is whether TCS will actually retain me or not. In case they don’t, should I consider withdrawing my resignation? Also, if I do take back my resignation, after how many days will I again be eligible to resign?
My main question is: Should I withdraw my resignation if retention doesn’t work out?

I am bit confused here.First you resigned then requested your manager to retain you?You resigned but expecting TCS should retain you?You expecting TCS to retain you and again you will resign after some time? What actually you want to achieve here.

Hey ,
The resignation is to get the hike , you won't get more than 15% hike even if you dedicate your life to tcs . It's a calculated move , well I had a discussion with my team lead he said the same , he will give a green signal for my retention when hr asks . But all in all its hr's decision to retain . So , that's what got me now .

They will not give you more than 15% max even if they retain you. This tactic will not work if they refused to retain. As Per current scenario they are happy to release anyone.

My suggestion: think what motivated for you to resign.. if that reason still holds keep looking for job till last week or your lwd… if by last week you still don’t have anything solid to join you can withdraw as unemployment is never better than being employed … if you take back papers you cannot resign for another 6 months ( that’s what I have read somewhere ) but don’t showcase your thoughts be strong and keep negotiation on outside and inside till your last week of working day … once that crosses then decide

If I were you I would accept the bond the other company is offering. Atleast for 3 years you won't be laid off

What is prime

Retention doesn't work like this. Even if your lead and manager speaks to the HR about your retention, the HR will come back and try see what you're getting outside. Now, provided you don't have an outside offer, it is highly unlikely the HR will go ahead. You'll be entertained for retention only if you have an offer, the HR will see that offer before giving you an increment - unfortunately that's how it works.
And even if I keep aside the external offer aside, they'll probably promise you something in the next quarter which you also don't know whether you'll get or not.
This is foolishness. Your lead and manager aren't your near and dear ones, they have dealt with thousands of resources like you. Be very careful while dealing with these people.

18% what I have seen recently.... With one of technical lead...
