Should I start a new business

How to start a new business which has low income then your current business (like from wholesaler to retailer) requires capital investment of nearly 1 cr but if things go right you can earn 2-5 lac a month whereas 3-7lac can be done with this wholesale business but it's my father's business and i want to do something on my own. Will it be the right way to begin with a lower business then your current one and also which needs a lot of struggle to settle down and it would be way much more tough when I want to shut that retail outlet Or i should look for some other options
