
Should I person resign first or ask manager to reduce notice period first.
Suppose I have a offer when joining is in 1 month.But company policy is 3 months notice period.But obviously it's negotiable so in that case should we first negotiate with the manager or directly resign and negotiate for reducing notice period.

There was a very similar post like this yesterday by a fresher guy, who repented all these steps. Why are you confident that your manager will reduce your notice period?

My take- Resign first, and assume that your manager will not reduce notice period. If you are worried about consequences of not getting another offer, then don’t resign and don’t even tell manager about this offer; and wait for 3 months notice accepting offer.

Most probably if your notice period is 90 days, your manager will not reduce it. If you resign thinking you will get early release. You will find yourself in a big trouble.
I suggest you to take offer from a company who are willing to wait 90 days and then try hard
