Should I move to Bangalore for 30 LPA or stay in NCR?

Hello, everyone

I recently received an offer from a company based in Bangalore and while they haven't given a formal number yet (startup and all), in expecting approximately 30 LPA + ESOPS.

Now the situation is, I've anyways worked remotely and set my own hours. I stay with family so have almost 0 expenses. I also made more than 30 LPA last year.

I've recently also started therapy and in all honesty for a while put a pin in work and reduced my work load from this month. Right now, I'm making approximately 40 - 50k a month. I work as a freelance consultant.

Pros:

  1. The company has a decent brand name in my industry.

  2. The business and strategy team is pretty good and very seasoned.

  3. It will give me a chance to move out, live on my own and see what the fuss is about.

  4. They're expecting to launch a product in the next few months which might add very well to my CV.

  5. I don't have a competing offer on hand (but I haven't serially begun looking either)

Cons:

  1. Money isn't awesome. With my espenses, I'll be making significantly less.

  2. I was hoping to work with a senior professional this time around and as a part of a larger department but I'm back to leading things again (I'm going to be the only legal resource). This is the model I've always worked in but I thought maybe I should work under someone for now.

  3. My therapist had asked me not to make any major life decisions at the moment... I'm lowkey worried about the impact going from the whole - remote, work from home, staying with family thing to pulling long hours in the office in a strange new city with no one to lean on on my health.

I'm also terrified of letting go of an amazing opportunity because of my apprehensions :/

I'd love some opinions!

I'd say don't focus on the money. Living by yourself in a new city with it's own problems and standards is a different new experience.
If you feel you'll like the role and the work that comes with it, I'd say go for it!

You can always come back to whatever you were doing as freelance consultant if this doesn't pan out.

All in all, you'd gain some new experience at the very least and some new good connections!

All the best
