Should I join as Founder's Office Intern
Currently have an offer for Founder's Office Intern at a Startup at 25k/mo w/ PPO. Very interested in the offer and the pay is nice too but the reviews on Glassdoor are kind of scary talking about office politics and overworking. Where I currently work, is also a startup, the environment is great and everybody is chill, laughing and very supportive, but the pay is little less.
So, here I am confused about what to do. Any experienced person who can help?

Is your current role also founder's office? If not, are you sure you want to switch? Consider talking to people already doing this and ask them how their actual day to day looks like.
-
Your current company culture sounds good, however majority of companies are toxic. I understand you have anxiety, and you'll eventually have to learn to navigate tough situations at work, and regulate yourself, draw boundaries etc.
-
If the pay is good and you are interested in the role, go for it. Explore something new, that's what early career is for. Do as many new things as you can. It'll help in you getting clarity as to what you want to do, and not want to do. It'll shape you as a professional.

Glassdoor reviews are scary, yes, but company culture mostly depends on your immediate team culture. Hope your team/manager are nicer. 🤞

-
No, my current role is in tech, I do not know anyone who has worked/works in the founders office, my only source is YouTube right now, and there are good to neutral reviews mostly.
-
Yes, the current company's culture is great, we've 4.8 on Glassdoor haha
-
Yes, thank you.

My manager will probably be the CEO himself, there 1-2 reviews about him being overwhelming or overworking😬

Point 2 and 4 are rightly said. But point 1 and 2 have a significant limitations.
Asking a person currently in that role will never give the true picture unless he/she is a close friend or a true well wisher. This is equivalent to asking a RE broker if the house is good.
For point 3, pay is good way to evaluate the job. Pay should be a criteria only if it is significantly high. Say 40+l. The odds of getting stereotyped is real danger. So changing role and career might become difficult after some time, unless one has T1 qualification or is really lucky. T1 qualified individual will not be paid 25k. Good roles don't get paid 25k.

Just curious if the founder’s office intern = secretary or does it mean something else entirely

Im not sure, it didn't specify that, the JD mentioned suporting strategy initiatives, project planning and monitoring, research and analysis, meeting preps and adaptability (handling various tasks and responsibilities)
