Should i go to office?

I recently joined TCS and allocated to a project but yet i do not have floor access as my background verification is still in progress. Someone from project team asked me to just go and swipe the card. Is it really necessary to go office i am not sure can someone please help me to know?

Yes go to the office and wait for 5 minutes and came back other took the expectation

Can you explain wait for 5 minutes part? I see lots of people waiting for 5-10 mins before leaving but it doesn't make much sense to me
