Should I go for ISB?

I’ve been working for 2.5years now and gunning to give my GMAT in the next month to apply for ISB R2. I’m not sure if I should go through that route to get a role change/salary hike since I’m doing well for my experience but just lost on the future aspects.

Add some more details - what role do you currently have, total comp, what role are you targetting post MBA, any strong 5yr plans etc.

Consult hiring has taken a big hit this year, and it's unlikely we'll get to the 2021/22 hiring numbers. So if you want MBB, you ought to have a strong profile going in.

Regardless of how much your total comp is currently, post MBA you'll have a cash component of 25-30L (if you were in the top half of the batch). If you change roles (e g. Coming from software role, going in consulting), you will be starting from scratch at the age of 26-27 along with 22-23 yr old IIM grads. Maybe your manager too might be younger to you, so some nuances there.

If you don't have a tier1 UG with 700-1000+ batch size, ISB can soke for it in the medium term with he alumni network.

Lastly, if you are in tech as a developer, think really hard if you want an MBA. Not more than 10 folks post MBA would be earning more than a 3yr developer making 30-40 lpa in cash + some 5-10L in stocks and bonuse.
