Trending @Capgemini; Should I decline a project with old one (JSF) to focus on my preferred ones
I am almost at the end of my current project release and have recently interviewed for several upcoming projects. I’ve been shortlisted for one project and am waiting to hear back from others. For the project I’ve been selected for, I initially accepted the offer after learning about the technical details. However, after further consideration, I realized that my true interest lies in development, even though I know I still have a lot to learn. In my first project, where I worked for the past two years, I hoped to get more opportunities for development but ended up focusing more on database work. I feel like I’ve missed out on developing the tech skills I’m passionate about, such as Spring Boot and Microservices. The new project I was selected for mainly involves Java Server Faces (JSF), which is an older technology. I’m concerned that working on this project will further delay my progress in developing the skills I’m most interested in. Considering my age and career growth, I’ve decided not to take on this new project to avoid wasting more years on technologies that don't align with my career goals.I haven’t started the onboarding process yet, only recievedan bgv link for new project. I’m thinking it’s not too late to change my decision. Is my reasoning sound? Should I reconsider my decision?
