Trending @Infosys; Should I Continue with Infosys or Switch Career Path?

Message: I need some guidance regarding my career situation.

I am currently working at Infosys with a salary of ₹48k per month. Recently, I have been asked to relocate to Bangalore, but I live in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, which is almost 1700 km away. The cost of living in Bangalore would be quite high compared to my salary, and apart from that, my parents also need me to stay close to them.

For the last 3 years, I was working from Gurgaon, and my previous manager was okay with that arrangement. Now, since I am on the bench, I got an email that I need to report to my base location (Bangalore).

I am confused about what to do: • Should I request HR for a transfer to Noida or Gurgaon and try to continue here? • Should I resign and look for another IT job in NCR (I have 3 years of experience)? • Or should I leave IT completely and fully focus on SSC/Railway exam preparation, which I have already started?

I really want to manage both my home responsibilities and career, but right now I am stuck. Any genuine advice would be appreciated.

Since you have 3 years experience, I'll say this is the correct time to look for better opportunities. Maybe resign for that reason, let's see if they might post you in your location. Or try to look new for opportunities and also try to manage job and preparation for competitive tests because once you are out of IT it's very hard to come back.

Railways , bank jobs do you think they will let you stay in location . You will be tranferred every 3 years. Look for an IT job in ncr if that suits your needs. They will not chnage your location if you are on bench. So either go to noida / GGN office make some connections or apply for IJP in these locations or put in your papers and try finding another job. Cautioning you since you are on bench if you resign they can release u immediately as well
