should I change my habits?

  • be me
  • 22M Single
  • doing job from 2 months in startup (AKA Low salary)
  • spend all money on weird expensive stuff like clothes, buying tickets for tech shows, live performance of piano, other instruments, art gallery etc.
  • going to expensive restaurants alone and doing stuff which I never tried.

I am dumb or I should keep exploring the new things. Or should I start saving money.

I am spending crazy on new things, experiences. idk how I am able to justify these purchases. I am spending 2X my office salary.

(I do earn from my side hustle, so I have some money sometimes. Earning is not consistent.)

What's should I do? Saving or explore for little bit more.

That's exactly what I do. I am a frugal guy and don't spend even 5 rupees extra on the bus. I prefer to walk instead. However, I will be visiting the USA next month for vacation

Focus on upskill and your primary goal is to earn 1 lakh per month first instead of buying clothes, purchase on tickets and all unused stuff. Once you achieve that goal then enjoy your life without all of these questions in mind.

I don't have much friends, so I am exploring everything to make friends with like minded people so exploring aggressively

Just explore network that will help you to go in right direction not only friends. Focus on up-skill yourself and make network to get referral.

First of all block your all credit cards/sources since you mentioned double expenses.

Second, prep for interviews. Must needed.

TBH, for savings, you don’t ideally need crores of CTC. Start early with fixed amount.

You must grow in career and you should definitely prep for interviews and get good offers.

At the same time, even if you get fat monthly salary, that too will become less down the line because poorness is a mindset. Start regulating your expenses. Start buying assets rather liabilities.

Don’t get into debt but everything else is exactly what you need to do. Experience new things and evolve.

I spend what I earn. Not taking any EMIs and loans of any sorts.

Yeah man then have fun. Spend everything you’ve got for atleast 6 months and experience the best things because you’ve waited your entire life for this . At some point you’ll just get bored of it all wnd start saving money yourself . Happened to me.

What side hustle you do?

I have a foreign client, which pays based on how much I bring traffic. I do SEO and everything to make sure his website is on top.

Hey bro I also earn very low money i.e 22k/month and this money is that low that I cannot afford having an exotic cappuccino on weekends and even I cannot afford a bata shoe that costed me 3k. My appraisal is coming Waiting for that and thinking about switching afterwards

Hey guyz ,

Need an advice!

I have a wfh job , live with my parents (so no rent, food cost)

I don't spend on buying expensive items. Since very young age have kept my expenditure to minimum. Only spend on fast food that too once in a week and on health supplements (protein powder , gym fees).

I am not of the view to have any own bike or big car . I am ok with public transport (metro, train, taxis).

At max my monthly expenditure reaches 10% of my salary never goes beyond that. Remaining money i invest in mutual funds.

Am i living a frugal life? Am i missing on experiences?

Yes you are.
Sometimes we feel guilty on spending on ourselves especially if we have seen poverty in our early days. But making a budget might help. Use some rules like 50-30-20 and live your life unless you want to regret later.

Also, make a habit to save atleast 30% for rainy days and after you have saved 3-5 lacks. Then put that 30% into SIPs or gold so that after 20-30 years you have enough to not work for money

Good idea, will start investing in SIP from new year.
