Should I buy an iPhone?

Have been an Android user and planning on moving completely to apple ecosystem - iphone, iWatch, air pods, magsafe charger, and a series of other apple accessories. I own a macbook already. The total cost comes to little over 2 lakhs. I am in India so the cost includes govt taxes.

Is it worth it? Have any of you benefitted by being on Apple as compared to Android? Would love to hear your opinions.

I’ve moved over from Android after being a long time fan for the Apple Watch primarily.

Bought the watch + pods + phone + other random accessories. Company already gave me MacBook.

Must say these devices work together like a charm. Won’t be able to go back to android regardless of how much I love it.

Do you feel the pressure to keep iphone upgraded ?

PrancingJellybean

Actually nope. The last 2 upgrades I got were as birthday gifts. iPhones work pretty fine for 3-4 years if maintained well.

No stick to android. You can repair it. Iphone you cannot repair. It is shit.

I have repaired my phones usb c port, camera Beeen using for 3 years Plan to make it to atleast 5

I’ve moved from Android to apple, but now thinking to go back. The reason are repairability, you’re stuck into the ecosystem, although ecosystem works fine no frills but you will say no to alternatives. Cost is an important factor, once you’re on the train, apple will do very minor insignificant changes every year and you’ll be almost compelled to upgrade your iphone version to cover your fomo.
Apart from that, I think the inability to sideload apps, use adblockers well, used vanced like most useful apps that are experience changing, etc, these aren’t available to the ios users.
Apple is slow at rolling the updates that are necessary. When 5G was launched, they didn’t enable this feature, although sold the devices claiming they support 5G. This is a huge disappointment for end users who want to experience the best of latest features. Not just 5G, but limited support to codecs, limited display refresh rate, and there are more such minor examples.
This trend by apple isn’t over yet, they keep doing it. In the past apple used to intentionally slow down certain iphones to make users upgrade, which they later acknowledged too.
I personally wouldn’t prefer to spend so much for such experience going forward If apple continues these practices.

All the criticism is valid. If those issues bother you - Android is definitely better.

For me the Apple Watch was just too good a reason so couldn’t move

You can sideload apps pretty easily using altstore

Stick to android. I did a mistake moving to ios. Not worth the money. Yes the products work good compared to android but the price difference is not justifiable.

Will definitely move back to android.

But one thing is for sure, People will notice when you flick a latest iphone pro out of your pocket. It definitely is still a status symbol in India.

If you want value for money, go for android otherwise go for Apple

I'm also stuck in this dilemma ever since I've been getting the internship salary

Used to be android fan, but after expensive Samsung phone became brick and not detecting SIM cards after a software update due to manufacturing defect, recently shifted to iPhone

Android has best voice typing on Google pixel devices, so if you are business focused or like to take a lot of notes, you might want to explore pixel instead

Most Financial frauds happen on Androids only. Their side-loading app feature along with their lax play store, and the human greed and foolishness, are to be blamed. iOS ensures much better privacy and security than Android. I had read on LinkedIn 2-3 complaints of people losing lakhs in financial frauds (on losing 20+ lakhs), one of that loss was specifically related to Android. So for financial security too, iOS should be preferred
