Should I be careful about Retention?

My last working day is nearing soon and yesterday, I got a call from the Delivery Manager. He said he’s open to matching my expectations and asked me to get back to him by Monday morning if I am willing to stay back. After that, he’ll talk to HR, and they’ll get in touch with me to handle the formalities.

I’m a bit unsure about what I should keep in mind during this process. Any tips on things I should watch out for or questions I should ask before I respond? Would really appreciate your advice! Also, if they match the package does it reflect immediately or in the next financial year.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Don't take it. Just leave..they will "retain" and then kick you later.

Way things are better to leave TCS.

But you really want to stay get written proof of everything on an email of Delivery manager agreeing to match the salary and etc.

Second, ensure your expectations are met in the right way. What I mean by this is your base pay is increased and not your Variables. Alot of people are retained with matching offer but most money is put in VP and very few of them end up getting the promised amount.

So in short get everything confirmed on a proper paper trail and ensure expectations are matched in the right way if you staying.

My advice is get retained and agin put down papers after say 4-6 months so that you will get maximum hike based on retained salary. You can thank me later 😂

I will suggest you to stay if they match or almost meet your expectations. You can look out later on with much more
