Should I ask for a salary revision?
Considering the tumultuous times we are seeing, with VC exits, layoffs and predictions of 2024 being even worse, should I ask for a salary revision.
I feel my salary is quite low and that I should ask for it but what to know people's opinion here vis-a-vis the market.

I always told my managers' only one sentence when they asked why I don't demand promotion, "If you want to keep me you can, If I want to be around, I will. Rest is mutual". The ones who never understood it, I showed my middle finger at the most critical juncture. No I never took counter offers

Yes it’s less but if your job security is there like company Is bootstrapped or profitable or your role is solid then would suggest to continue for another 6-8 months and then once the job market is good then make a switch.
Because even now if you switch to a high paying salary but if that company is not profitable or runway is depended on funding/investment then it would be a problem.

Hey, thanks for responding. Yes, the company is quite stable. It's just that I'm seeing incompetent folks and people who have similar experience as me earning double the amount.
Anyway, I get your point. Thank you!

If that’s only problem, then try to do freelancing side by as in that you can make money and have a stable job also.
