Should I accept the offer from same industry?

I’ve received an offer for strategy role with hike (% not yet finalized) in the same industry (Industry A) as my previous job. However, I’m currently aiming to transition into a different industry (Industry B) for long-term growth.

I’ve been shortlisted for few strategy roles in B, with processes in pipeline but no offers yet. It’s proving a bit challenging given the current market competition and way more profiles directly aligned with B than mine.

Given this, should I accept the offer from A while continuing to interview with companies in B, or hold out in hopes of landing an offer in B soon?

Depends on what your situation is in the current company and how much hike are you getting. Switching also comes with an opportunity cost, you can only switch so often.

If the money is very good then sure go for it, if it's okaish and you are well settled in your current company the keep looking for the industry B

Should have mentioned in the post 😅- I left previous company with no offer in hand because was really annoyed with the culture and already had in mind that I wanted to switch industries. So right now it’s about accepting offer from same industry or wait out for the one I’m aiming for.

Can you elaborate on the opportunity cost that I’ll be incurring?
