Shift to Product Manager
Guys wanted to get your thoughts… I have 7 years of sales experience working with B2B SaaS companies and I want to get out of this role because of the pressure that it comes with … Revenue pressure, quarterly targets etc… I don’t have a tech background and don’t enjoy coding etc but I like understanding how tech works and read and explore new technologies.
Product Management looked like a great shift were my experience as a sales guy would also be considered… wanted to get the larger picture from you guys if you think I should checkout any other roles and what is the best way to change your role… TIA

Is selling a tedium or is the org you work for a problem?

I have moved a lot from one org to another.. I just feel sales is not for me… because there isn’t any handbook to excel here it just happens when it does… i have been a top performer crushing targets so I have been able to sell but I just feel I have not acquired any skill… anybody with 2-3 yrs of experience can do the same what a guy with 7-8 yrs lf experience can…
You’ve already got the strongest PM skill most folks struggle with, knowing the customer deeply. Your SaaS sales background is a secret weapon in product! PMs don’t need to code; they just need to speak tech. Talk to industry PMs who made the shift; platforms like Hiked.in can connect you with mentors who’ve walked this exact path.
