Sharing my journey 2.4 L to 30L

Started my career at the start of covid, 2020.

Company 1 A relative of mine got me an interview at a startup he was working - I was a shitty coder back then, but was way too confident. So I got the job - 10k/month. After 3 months, they bumped my pay up to 20k/month.

Left the job after 7-8 months of working there. The founder was disappointed but let me go anyways.

Company 2: They basically offer me 30k/month, and I got it from a referral of a close friend. The company was good, the work was good, but I found the environment too depressing. Left it in 3 months.

Company 3: Again, one of the people I ended up meeting and connecting with got me referred to this company - They paid me an hourly rate of 6$, and I worked for around 4-5 hours daily. In 1.5 years, they bumped my pay up to 10$ - Made around 70-75k/month before taxes. I learned a lot about linux, VMs, and Cloud.

Company 4: Again I met someone in a PG who referred me to a new company where they offered me 15 Lpa. I was over the moon. Stayed there for 2 years and got my pay bumped up till 23 LPA - Best 2 years I spent.

Company 5: One of my dearest friends again, referred me to this company. Got me a pay of 30 Lpa, but I already had an offer in hand for 35-38. I decided to let go of that offer and join my friend's company. Worst decision of my life. Pathetic hours, pathetic people - But, I am still grateful.

If I had to summarise my journey, luck and my relationships with people got me where I am today. I will forever be indebted to all these people who uplifted me.

Fortunately, I'm no longer a shitty coder and I now have confidence, after a long 5 Years to be able to crack good jobs on my own.

I guess I've done a bit of everything. I'm still a generalist who can do UI/API/Cloud/DevOps depending on the need of the hour.

Which company were you obsessed with joining, but never could?

Trying to see companies that people here have had the dream to join, but didn’t ultimately work out. Have you now grown over it?
