They've had major fuck ups, but that's actually true for Sequoia US too (FTX etc)
I feel there's something else at play here too
Sequoia is splitting into 3 investment firms each serving US/Europe, China/SouthEast Asia and India respectively. Saw in the headlines it was mainly to address similar startups with competing products being funded by them.

Most likely LPs are not comfortable with Sequoia investing in the same companies from different vehicles. Sequoia most likely invests in growth stage Indian companies from both the Indian company as well as US/UK dedicated vehicle, similar to what other US-based VCs do.
