Senior team member is annoying me

Hi people, I need your advice on something. I am fresher. I have joined TCS (Pune) four months back and allocated to a project one month ago. My manager and most of the team is in Gujarat location. only 3 people from my team are at Pune. My ODC doesn't have any fix time shifts or any 6 hours/9 hours policy. Everyone can come and go whenever they want(then WFH).

my team member who has joined here 5 years ago that girl is annoying me by asking are you working today? everyday I get this message kn teams app. Obviously I am working otherwise I would have informed the team and manager about my leave. So she asks me where are you I am not seeing you in office? are you in ODC? only she work from 12pm to 6pm in office daily and others people including me doesnt, we loggin from home after working for 1 or 2 hours in office.

Now please tell me what to do in this situation, as I dont report to her. It feels like she is just frustrated and look for juniors to scold them. What should I do please help.

Is she is part of your team? If yes, your manager might have asked her to do this monitoring activity. Just make it clear and ask directly to her about this.

Maybe your manager asks her to check on others ...most tcs managers play this game ..they fire gun placing on other people's shoulders so they don't get in bad books

If she just asks "where are you" ,don't reply before you come to the office.

You start annoying her by asking more doubts and questions. She will automatically stop pinging you 🤣

I would suggest not to talk with anyone about this. And just ignore the message if it's annoying for you. Just reply at eod saying - Yes, I came. No further discussion. If she asks for more details like when you leave, etc, etc. Ask her why? If she gives a reasonable answer then inform your office timings.

And one more thing, as an advice for you, don't skip work from the office much at least at the beginning of your project for at least 6 months. As they would expect you to come so that they can train you if needed, rather than pinging on teams or call.

If she is not your mentor or anything, then just ignore unnecessary messages except if its project related.

Yes, if she is not your mentor then ask why whenever she asks personal questions.

Just propose him and take her for a romantic date

Dude instead of asking a bunch of strangers here, talk to her, tell here you are not in the office or you went home and all, see her reaction and go from there. If she needs to collaborate on something you can set up a meeting where you both are comfortable. You won't know unless you ask. Avoiding her won't do any good.

See, I suggest you come clean to her. Whenever she asks you about your whereabouts, just let her know that you were in the office earlier today and now you've logged in from your home, or maybe you're planning to visit the office later today. I believe your manager must have asked her to ensure that the whole team is RTO compliant, and all of this might not be about the office hours; she might just want to make sure you're visiting the office daily.
