I am working as Senior associate consultant for past 2 years. I talked with my manager regarding Consultant promotion. He said me like he will check with HR and nominate me. When can I expect my promotion?

Speaking to my manager, made me like he is not willing to promote now. He was asking so many questions. Will he nominate me? Is there any other process

If he is asking so many questions then he actually wants to nominate you and his nomination should not get rejected.So please do all the things he say.Some manager will say will look into it and forget.

I came to know today, my manager didnt even talk to HR about the promotion. He simply said, he can discuss on next quarter. Many peoples who joined after me got JL5 promotion. Feeling bad on joining this project
