Having a bad exp with selling my 2 wheeler. Have family bike that is 20 years old. Sold it to a local guy for 10K. He was quite satisfied initially. But turn out the vehicle had hole in the tank, where petrol would leak if full tank petrol is filled. He came to know this only after 2 weeks. The guy went bat shit crazy on me. And started to threaten me that he won't change the RC. I was even more shocked to know that seller has no recourse to make sure the buyer transfers the RC and xcept for requesting him to do it.
The RTO docs will only have a "delivery note" for the seller. But if you go to the police the first question they ask is do you have a sales agreement?
The only option the seller has is make a police complaint, inform the RTo thru court notice about the vehicle sale.
If any one is planning to sell your vehicle for anything less than 20K. don't sell it to individual.
Scrap it. There are recognised scrap dealer like mahindra. The rate will be less at least you will have peace of mind. Else you will be at the mercy of the buyer.
Remember as long as the vehicle is in your name, you are responsible for anything that happen due to the vehicle.
