Selected but no offer

After 2 weeks and 4 rounds of interviews, the HR informed me on Friday that I’ve cleared the last round and have been selected. S/he asked me to share some documents and told offer letter will be shared in 2 days. I waited for 2 days and called the HR today. Here’s the interesting thing, on calling s/he didn’t recognise me first and asked me which department I’m from, then asked to wait 15 minutes for callback as s/he was on break. Again waited for more than an hour and called back but this time s/he didn’t pick up the call. My question is should I be worried? Move on or am I being impatient?

Just some more info - I don’t have any other offer in hand and the CTC I’ve asked for 100% of previous (last appraisal in 2021) although it’s still less than what is being offered for senior role in current market scenario in Bengaluru. Could this be the reason?

Your thoughts, please.

Yes, I’ll do that in next few days as suggested by @perpetualfernweh

Also, just spoke with my friend who’s joined their team recently (different location), he said they took 1 week after confirmation for offer letter, so probably it’s their way of ‘moving very fast’ 😅

Wait out till the end of the week and reach out on Monday again. Need to pester them until they give us an update.

Hmm, that’s the only option we have. It’s very contradictory though when the head HR says ‘we move very fast’ and do something like this

Yeah. A hiring manager once said they were in a hurry to fill up a position and wanted me to interview in the next 2 days. I said okay but they didn’t end up scheduling an interview till the next week. I died of anxiety.

this has happened atleast 10 times in last 2 months with me, there is no/few jobs in market and HR is just either acting to stay busy or taking interviews to stay relevant in market

Then ghosted me for 2 weeks. When I followed up, the HR s...
