Hi folks, I'm currently System engineer working as Mainframe developer in BFSI unit joined TCS in 2021 completed 4 years in 2025. Feels like I'm struck with Mainframes dev Had taken an external course on Data Science and AI worked on basics and have solid foundation in traditional ML algorithms and Data cleaning and preprocessing seeing the current JD for data science roles which is asking GenAI and MLOps makes me less confident to fake my experience as I don't have real project experience and attended few interviews for Mainframe developer role couldn't clear it seems like life is struck with this low paying job
Ask for promotion from your supervisor as you have already completed 4 years,if they don't provide just force them to release you so that you can find a better project suitable for you.
How do I make a transition to Data science project in TCS or outside from junior position
