Trending @Infosys; Seeking Perspective on Notice Period Policy and WFH Exception
I'm currently navigating my notice period and wanted to seek some perspective on a policy matter. I recently submitted a request for a Work From Home (WFH) exception through our designated health portal (Hello Doctor) due to a genuine and validated medical reason, and the request was approved by the consulting doctor. However, after I submitted my resignation, I was immediately moved to the bench. Now, my request for the WFH exception is being denied by HR, who are asking me to adhere strictly to the Work From Office (WFO) guidelines. The reason given was: "What work will you do from home when you are on bench?" This is confusing, as the question of 'work to be done' remains the same whether I'm at home or required to travel to the office while benched. The current situation is pressuring me to choose between an early release (which may impact my final settlement or relieving formalities) or adhering to WFO, despite my doctor-validated need for the WFH arrangement. I am currently utilizing my accrued leaves to manage this period. I'd appreciate any insights from HR professionals or those who have faced similar situations
