Trending @Cognizant; Seeking Help on resignation

Currently I am in bench, got offer in another company. Dropped a resignation a week back. Manager is not giving immediate release as they are looking for a project to tag and asking me to serve notice period. New company joining date is not so far.

Please help me to deal with this Any advice will be very helpful. How to deal with this.
