Seeking Advice on Resignation Process at TCS

I recently submitted my resignation via email to the HR department at TCS and CC’d my manager and supervisor in the email. However, I have not received any acknowledgment or response from HR yet.

I am seeking clarity on the following points:

1.Which date will officially be considered as my resignation date – the date I sent the email or the date HR acknowledges it?

2.By when can I expect a response from HR at TCS?

3.If HR does not respond, to whom should I escalate my resignation for acknowledgment?

I want to ensure that I follow the proper process and avoid any delays or misunderstandings during my exit process at TCS. If anyone has gone through a similar situation or can offer guidance, your advice would be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

  • The official resignation date is the date HR acknowledges it, not when u sent the email.
  • HR usually takes 7-10 days to respond.
  • If no response, escalate to ur HRBP or higher management.
  • Make sure to follow up regularly to avoid delays. Good luck! 🍇

I have resigned recently so I think I am eligible to answer your query.

  1. When you send resignation email, when HR notices it(usually in 1-2 days), they send you few details to fill in such as RESIGNATION DATE, SKILLS, REASON FOR LEAVING, DATE OF JOINING TCS, etc. So the notice period starts from date you mention in RESIGNATION DATE column.

  2. If HR doesn't respond, follow up on teams, email everywhere to get their attention. If still doesn't respond, keep their managers and hierarchy in cc. (In my case they told their SLA to respond is 24 hours).

I hope this helps...
