Seeking Advice: Mid-Career Crisis in Software Engineering

Some pointers about me:

  • lazy person
  • will do something when I really need something or due to circumstances rarely due to self motivation.
  • not really motivated right now, but need some adrenaline pump to get going

On software side of things:

  • DSA not really good, have given up on hard questions.
  • like working on system design - really interested in tradeoffs and scaling.
  • can put in long hours when needed
  • ready to learn any new things when there is necessity.

Currently wlb is not so great. Also I feel like I'm repeating the same work, not doing anything much on engineering side but rather building few api's.

These things might be wague, but would really appreciate good and valuable explanations and improvement idea.

Try enrolling yourself to cooking / music / dance / yoga class. Give time to reading a good book. You ll get back on track in a month or so. Cooking food and yoga class worked for me.
