Seeking Advice
Hey, Morning.
I have recently got an offer from IBM of 13 LPA and at TCS I have more than 4 and half years of experience sitting somewhere around 9 LPA with pending ITA promotion.
If i put down papers then what is possibility of below.
-
Will TCS/Management even try to retain me (I have a image of sincere hard working team member but do not have critical dependency)
-
If I ask them to give me a promotion (C2, this will make my CTC around 10.3) and transfer to nearest location of my hometown which is only 100 KMs away from my hometown.
What's the possibility that TCS will give a chance to retain me.

You have nothing to lose so try resigning if they retain then great otherwise join IBM and in 3 month notice you can try other companies as well

Thanks, What are the chances that they'll give a try to retain?
A friend was saying that they will not even give a try to retain in current market scenario

It depends on the technology you are working on and what TCS has to pay for that technology if they hire externally

Depends on project budget and dependency. Even though they want to retain you they may offer you 20 to 30% hike.

is resignation rising?

How how did u apply at ibm

Check their career page and apply for roles you want, keep an eye on social sites such as LinkedIn

Why do you want to get retained? I can relate to the anxiety of leaving the comfort zone, but it's not as bad as it appears so go for it. In fact sometimes the switch adds a whole lot of experience and perspective.

Thanks for your views.
Getting retained and a transfer can make me mear to my hometown with a handsome salary. That makes me think about retention

They will not retain

tcs will not retain.
