They are telling that can able to help on cancel/claiming all the insurances by issuing LOC(something called as letter of credit). They told around 85k amount will be charged and they are requesting the same to pay online. Once we say okay they told will be pr

Does IRDAI contacts the customers directly for helping of claiming/cancelling our insurances by default???. Is this legit or a SCAM???

If it just involves no offline facility then it's a scam. Beware.

For future: If anytime anything on-call involves an action that might result in a debit to your account, it probably is a scam and check it thoroughly. Always.

Interesting scam to fleece 85k!! Rule of thumb:- Any phone call on financial matters, disconnect the call within seconds. Any contact must happen via email or hard-copy letter, and then too it must be properly verified whether legit folks have emailed or not just some scammers. Saying because such phone calls are so common these days, earlier emails used to come more, nowadays more phone calls come. Thankfully these days, Airtel has introduced a “possible spam” warning with all such scam calls.
