It isn't no cost.
A friend of mine wanted to buy an iPhone from one of the offline stores and was thinking of opting for no cost EMI.
However he would have to pay approx 500 rs. extra per month for 18 or 24 months tenure (don't recall the tenure exactly).

Ultimately he paid in full using CC and got more discount than price of no cost EMI (the actual price without considering those hidden/extra charges).
