Savings kitty of a 40 YO Male in India

Hi All, Just wanted to understand from you all folks what would be a good savings amount for someone like me who is 40 yrs of age, working in healthcare industry (here salaries probably aren't as high as in the IT sector) , with a package of around 45 lacs p.a. Some pointers would be helpful for myself to plan my investment journey
