They make saas which has software that helps sales teams( majorly).
It is split into different parts: marketing, service, analytics, integration with other softwares. All this combined is called customer 360. It is beneficial for b2b and b2c companies that don't want to manage the data by themselves. They can just take a subscription of Salesforce.
Mind you Salesforce charges high premium. The product is great if you can configure it. It has too much arsenal for small businesses and hence not worth for many industries.
Indian companies like bajaj hdfc uses Salesforce to good extent because they have big customer base
