Sales Pivot at 30 with no prior sales experience - Is it possible?
Hello everyone, I am 29M, a pharma graduate with around 6 ish years of experience in the field of Pharmacovigilance (in a well-known IT company as a BPO/KPO project). However, I quit my job 6 months ago due to complete lack of job security and automation concerns amongst other challenges. I'm interested in entering sales (preferably B2B tech/SaaS) I want to know if it is a possible pivot at this age and with this amount of other industry experience and where should I start and if the industry is even welcoming 30 year old career pivots. I'm obviously okay with less pay and starting from scratch given that I dont have any prior sales experience. Any advice is welcome. Thank you in advance.

Can you explain your role a bit more. What did it entail exactly?

I worked as a Pharmacovigilance Data Analyst, where I analyzed reports on side effects and adverse drug reactions to identify patterns and ensure patient safety. While this function is typically a dedicated department within big pharma companies, it's often outsourced to IT service firms in India like Accenture or TCS. These firms hire pharma graduates at low cost, turning the work environment into a client-service model focused more on meeting international client demands than on core scientific growth.
