they must be offering something else, could be better role or location.. do you think any of these things are there? or is there anything better than currenr org?

If they still don't care, just accept it and keep interviewing.
You have until the joining day to refuse if you play it dumb. You can shift your starting date citing any family emergency or medical reasons, and move it ahead, until you get better offers to join.
"But oh, it's so unethical" Bruh, the companies don't give two shit about you during lay-offs. They don't give 2 shit about your compensation on joining. You needn't either.
I have seen ample people turn down offer on joining date. You can't force anyone to come to office lmao.
