Years of experience does not matter in software much. You could be doing the same thing year on year!

Refer to compensation for your level. First identify where you stand in the software engineer competency ladder/matrix. Then compare compensation for that level across big and known companies on something like levels.fyi

I dont but HR's in the market do. So while negotiating with them, you ought to know the market as well.
Like an HR from builder.ai last week called me and she was no more willing to go beyond 39.5 ctc all fixed.
