
Sabbatical Eligibility and Impacts
I have been an employee at TCS for a duration of 12 years. Recently, I have been contemplating the idea of requesting a sabbatical for various reasons. These reasons include personal matters, health concerns, and the inability to commute to the office. I am feeling overwhelmed and in need of a break from work-related stress to take care of myself and address these issues. I am wondering if TCS would consider granting me a sabbatical due to personal circumstances.

If you are in RMG, then you can connect with HR and explain your concern. You can take sabbatical by utilising your CL and EL. And then you can go on LWP. RMG should be fine as you will be not burden for them for cost centre. If you are in project, then they might not allow you to go on sabbatical unless they want to release you from project or you are asking for release.
Generally, except educational purpose, they don’t allow Sabbatical. But in policy there are other clauses where it is allowed. However, they don’t support these things and straight away say no.
I too was thinking for sabbatical for the reasons you have mentioned, its been around 13 years non-stop working in TCS and need break due to mental well-being. If you get any information, let me know
