I have heard from my manager saying that they will terminate ppl not attending office beyond 2 weeks. Am not really sure if he is trying to scare us or its actually the case

It depends on the manager. They didn't give any hike this cycle. Might be a punishment but no warnings of termination as of yet

You can always raise an exception to either work from different facility or not attend office fo sometime due to a reason
