RTO Exception process has gotten difficult

Has anyone else here started facing issues with RTO exception requests. They were going by smoothly for the last 2 months. However, HR has suddenly started creating chaos with rejection of requests. Every time it's some new approval that they want. Is there an escalation matrix for this ?

For my wife pregnancy during 10th month and post delivery also HR not ready to provide exception.
They are telling to take leave if required.
Its totally unfair.
Even in HR Policy there is no Paternity leave.

I have utilized by 10 days of leave for hospitalization and post delivery.
Disappointed with TCS for not taking care of feelings as a father.
RTO Exception also they cant provide for a month.

They will provide RTO exception, only if you know TCS policies and go with facts to the HR. Let me help you, I am also in the same situation like you, a father with a new born child and current on RTO exception for the past 8 months. TCS has a policy under Flexible work arrangement which clearly states fathers/mothers who are primary caregivers and have a new born child can work from home till the age of child is 1 year. This policy in detail is available in Knowme. Throw this policy document in front of your HR on an email and tell them that you will work from home as per this policy and i challenge you they cannot reject/deny on email or verbally.

In Ultimatix also, under GESS there is WFO exception request, here also if you raise the exception under the option of flexible work arrangement you will see option as fathers with new born. Just apply the exception it will go to HR and your manager and they will have to approve. Just upload birth certificate/ discharge summary thats it.

Yes, it is correct. Despite the project providing an RTO exception, HRs are not granting approval.

I got approval for 4 months and now Hr says they can approve only for 6 months. In the policy it is mentioned that each request can be availed for a maximum of 6 months till child is one year.

There was maintenance going on for GESS if you remember. So after that there were some issuess and so many requests were automatically created and rejected for RTO exception. There haa been no change to the overall process
