RTO and Working Hours
So I guess this is just a way of saying we are now expected to work 9 hours, 5 days a week. Also, who is even writing these statements on working from the office as "energizing". If anything, it drains people.

It'd have been bearable if all the team members worked from the same office but no, everyone is scattered around the world, wasting their time commuting to the office only to connect with others on Teams. No bonding or "energizing" happens, whatever that's supposed to mean.

Yeah. I'm the only one from my team at my base location. The only person I have a conversation with is the security at the reception lol

That's sad man, fortunately I have a few friends I made during my training who are working for the same client, different teams though and I at least get to socialize with them during lunch and tea breaks. Rest I'm surrounded by middle aged men in the office.

Yeah right. They want us to come 5 days and 9hrs a week but have no seats in office. Where am I supposed to work from? Company washrooms?

If you have a supportive manager and project, they would have negotiated on your behalf and got you a seat. Did you check with your manager on what can be done?

They are supportive and have been mailing HR for seat allocation but the HR said that there are no seats available.

What would be the consequences of not working form office for 9 hours? I don’t mind going to office. Just that 9 hours is too much. I can’t upskill in the office

I think they will start deducting the city allowance, quarterly performance bonus and such stuff. Also, I heard from a friend that his promotion has been stalled because he has not been reporting to the office. His whole team is based in US, so there is no point in going to the office and still they did this.
