I joined an associate consultant role in ECAS UNIT (Salesforce) in Infosys My background is an freshly MBA grad.
Now when it comes to project they are giving me developer role etc.
I am looking for client facing role, project management role etc.
What to do.
Try for DCG roles. They are mostly suitable for MBA graduates and the role ranges from fully functional to techno functional.
Big myth .. I am in DCG , having functional expertise. They have put me on Delivery role . They don’t have projects where Domain leads expertise can be utilized. They want only Software Engineers having somewhat understanding of domain.
I was in DCG for a few years and I have hired 20-30 MBA grads and everytime the expectation is you need to have Excel and SQL skills . Because with that you are not supposed to be in an IT company. Anything beyond that is a plus in your resume . I have utilized MBA grads for product configuration and minimal customization with some basic scripting skills . What do you mean developer? To code in Java / C#, etc
Talk to your manager about your career goals. Push for roles that match your aspirations. Update your skills and network aggressively. Don't wait for opportunities; create them.
