Trending @Infosys; Role change salary hike doubt
I got a role change with the manager's recommendation so got a promotion. So the percentage of hike I got is recommended by the manager or it's decided by the HR team ? And it's the same for others who got role change or it's different for each individual?
The hike % is mostly decided centrally by finance :HR. It’s based on your current CTC , where you stand percentile basis of your peers, what type of college you are from etc. mostly JL6 managers don’t even know the %. DM may still know it but can only do a +/- x% based on budget available. It will have to be taken from someone else if additional hike has to be given to you. Most DM won’t do it unless you are that special. Hence mostly it’s a standard hike of 17.-18% for people who are not lateral. For laterals i have seen it to be lower as some may already be on a higher package for their role.
