Rise of bhaya didis selling courses

Disclaimer this is not a rant or this has nothing to put in bad way someones hard work.

With so many ppl making tutorials and selling courses online, I had my few observations. I welcome ppl to join on this discussion with their point of views as well.

The most important things is you need a solid company name on your resume, doesn’t matter what work you might have done there. Everyone knows the meatiest work in google is done at west coast office(just an example).

This gives you the starting point, I would not disagree to the fact that these guys put on the hard work to crack the interviews, but that doesn’t mean you start selling a dream to everyone. It will be like what harshad mehta did to his clients during the days.

If a person is working in some unknown company and even though the person teaches really well, I bet there will be hardly any takers for his/her course.

Teaching is an art as per me, not everyone can be a great teacher. There are some good ones out there but majority of them don’t fall under above category. I would say they are social media influencers with a bit of tech knowledge.

We have already lost a generation with rot learning and now with the rise of these ppl, the day is not far way when a person aceing the interview knows jack shit when given an actual problem to solve at workplace.

These bhaiyas/didis are the main reason why we are seeing a lot of self overrated grads who in reality are mediocore

And lacking many basics....

Totally true

Recently Harkirat Singh started his cohort, his video of selling the cohort just mentions how he is an IIT grad, then joined GS etc. big names. A friend took it and told the Discord server had 12.5k folks while the cohort started, making him 6cr+, can increase as people can still buy it.

But the course isn't really great, just 2-3 weekly classes which give very basic knowledge, hell namaste js teaches more in deapth than him, no placement support too.

FluffyPotato

It's now 15k+ , means more than 7.5cr. He will probably hit 1M $ soon.

But it's still less than what those bhaiya Didis make, I imagine so called traders and finfluencers making even more and finally we have people like Vivek bindra.

And me here googling who is this harkirat Singh 😂

Here are my two cents on this. (This is true regardless of workplace). As soon as they nail these FAANG, they're like "Wowyy!! Now I'm in my dream company. I'll make the next jarvis here and whatnot".
Fast-forward 6 months. Reality starts to surface. They start to realise, Google or whatever, it's all the same. They'd have jira tickets and have to deliver it, hop onto meetings, review designs( if you're lucky) etc. This cycle goes on.

Now what next?

Here's what pops-up: " I'll work harder and promote fast, yay😁😁. "

Now here's my speculation. They start to grind more n more. After sometime, they're like "Dude, I can only rise so much, if I march up on the Promotion ladder. It gets harder and harder. How long will I keep up. Here, the progress is more or less linear. Contrast it with the influencer world. There's a huge audience base(folks graduating, etc), which is only gonna increase. And once, with some effort I could establish my brand, I'd have made myself an auto-pilot money machine. With time, it's only gonna become easier for me.
Even if there's any setback, i can easily make a comeback. So why not🥲🥲🥲"

And that's when we have a barrage of bhaiyya-didi masterclasses.

There's absolutely nothing wrong in this, btw.

✌️

So well written, can’t agree more on this. The answer feels like as if you have seen all of it

Bhai sabse zada frustrating meere liye these bhaiya Didi's show casing 17,18,19 year old folks making lakhs of money again making a blind rat race jese JEE bn ke reh gya hai resulting in 100s of suicide due to pressure! These jackasses don't give a shit about young boys and girls !

I think they lack credibility. They themselves don't have any solid industry experience. How should I expect you to teach me what one learns from experience? I can get all you teach in a book? What's the differentiating factor? But then these people cash in on the dreams of lazy people/people from small towns/people who have no real mentor. It's sort of like get quick rich schemes. There more to being a developer, than just being able to solve algorithmic problems!

If my math is not wrong harkirat is easily alone making 5cr+ in just one cohort where give 3 hours weekly. Crazy money.

Haha, he is selling dreams of 5cr package with fake salary screenshots. Guys has gone nuts

I've found his yt video are helpful for me.

I have no problems with them doing all this. I would start one as well If I looked good enough. Government will not honor it's pension commitment and NPS payout when we retire. Gotta hustle so I can have a peaceful retirement.

Nothing to do with the post.. But did you really verify your work mail? Aren't financial institutions strict with such things?

What do you think should be done to solve this ?

SnoozyPotato
SnoozyPotato

Nothing much, since there are some genuine good courses out there, only thing what can be done is to put out enough crowd sourced genuine not planted information so that someone can take an informed decision
