Right set of documents

GViners,

I recently closed my education loan from SBI 3 days back (it was unsecured and no colateral was given). I saw all the YouTube videos about all the right documents required to be collected while closing loan -

  1. NOC or NDC
  2. Loan statement wth 0 loan balance
  3. Copy of original loan agreement
  4. Loan closure certificate
  5. Check cibil and updated details should be shown there ideally

But they gave only 2 documents - Loan closure/NDC certificate and the loan statement with 0 loan balance.

The manager said there is no NOC given for this, definitely no loan agreement copy as that is bank's property and even did not write the sentence that "we have no objection on this customer".

My question is, is there anything I should do? Any document I should ask for? Or is this fine whatever they have given?

NOC / NDC is same thing. You just want a proof that the loan was paid off.

Loan agreement jab loan le rahe ho tab lete hai na? Anyways the bank can't deny it. If he keeps denying, escalate to the grievance officer.

But what's the point now? You have the NDC and 0 balance statement and the CIBIL verification. Just take this as a lesson for next time.

Haa mai wahi soch raha hu ki jyada magajmari karne ki zaroorat hai kya yahan pe ya more or less its okay?

Loan agreement diya nahi jata, the manager said. According to him loan agreement is bank's property and even a copy wont be given.

Mujhe ye hi thoda khatak raha hai kyunki agreement is between 2 parties and both the parties have equal rights on having the document for it, ideally.
