Not profitable enough for the company or the drivers. They were probably looking to get rid of it anyway, the pandemic gave them the perfect excuse

Heard this story at work that apparently there was one app a few years back in Bangalore doing precisely this but it faced multiple issues (riders used to connect with folks directly, monetisation crunch) plus safety issues, eventually Karnataka govt banned it
